Damn you Bryan Adams
I’ve always hated Bryan Adams’ music. “Everything I Do”, “This Side of Paradise”, and (I loathe writing it down) “Have You Ever Really Loved a Woman”, suck. I tried to think of a more diplomatic way to put it, or even something a bit more intellectual and substantive. But “sucks” is really the best way to express the way in which I detest his music.
Dixie informed me today that “Summer of ’69” is a Bryan Adams song. Man that’s an awesome song; I always thought it was Bon Jovi.
I honestly don’t know how to move forward in my life knowing what I do now. Bryan Adams, the putrescent archon of pappy crap, wrote “Summer of ’69”, a mid-eighties musical and lyrical work of genius.
My entire world has collapsed.
I must agree, “Summer of ’69” is a sweet song. And, though you may not like it as much or at all, I enjoy “Run to You”. The songs you listed above (besides “Summer of ’69”) are indeed Grade A shite.
“Run to You” is not nearly as offensive as the others, but it’s still crap, in my opinion

Okay, I just looked it up. “Summer of 69” came out in 1985. “It’s My Life” came out in 2000.

I would rather download the sound of 2 bullfrogs fucking than listen to “It’s Only Love” w/ Tina “Ike hits like a bitch” Turner. Sure, I will give him his just dues for “Summer of ’69”, but everything else falls in the category of horrid, butt-rocker 80’s tunes. Don’t even get me started on “Everything I Do.” The only place the song belongs is at a middle-school dance.
Bryan Adams did some music for the animated movie Spirit: Stallion of the Cimarron. When you mix Bryan Adams with Hans Zimmer, you get some serious magic. Try listening to those songs, see what you think. “This is where i belong”, and ” Here I Am”, as well as “Sound the Bugle” Even Bryan Adams on his own, his songs matched the time he wrote them in. Even his newer stuff well atleast 5 years ago, sounded like it was from 5 years ago. But again like someone pointed out, he doesn’t seem to concerned with what nay sayers think. Can’t blame him.

I loove Bryan`s music… not in a sorta teenybopper kinda way like some comments… I mean he is a great musician but I admitt some of his stuff its not as good as other songs… but hes great… I have all his cd`s and I mean its music that will last for a long time… I mean I`m only 17 and fell in love with music from my parents time… he`s awesome! Love summer of 69 love almost all oh his stuff… and have you heard ALL FOR LOVE with rod stewart and sting? or ITS ONLY LOVE with tina turner (a little cheesy titles however) but they are so strong! so good…

I don’t think Bryan Adams has ever got the credit for what he’s done musically, somewhat surprisingly, considering all his awards and this induction into the Canadian Music Hall of Fame. I think they miss that. Yes, they always begrudgingly recite the numbers about how many records he’s sold, but they’ve never understood that he might be as Mutt Lange and Bob Rock, two of the greatest producers in the business. He could sing the phone book and they miss it.
And what of the fact that unlike other great songwriters, from Bob Dylan to Bruce Springsteen to Eminem, one doesn’t get a lot of Adams’ personality from his lyrics — his political and social views, his latest adventure?
He’s done so much in his career, done things that you can actually take a look and say, “He was the first act to go to Pakistan; first in Vietnam; first in Turkey.” He believes that music breaks down all borders. That’s what he really thinks about music.
His actions speak louder than his words. He shows up. The money he’s raised for cancer; he’s the guy who got the whale sanctuary going in the southern hemisphere; he’s built schools in Pakistan. He played Jordan on the last tour. Korea, Iceland, Egypt, Qatar, India, Chile, East Berlin, Russia. A lot of singers would never even go to these places.
He does everything. The first Amnesty tour, Live Aid, Live 8, the Prince’s Trust two or three times, the Nelson Mandela Freedom Concert. He was a driving force behind “Tears are Not Enough” and has played with Pavarotti in Italy, Smokey Robinson at the Apollo, McCartney in London, Streisand, Sting, Rod Stewart, Tina and the Who.
He’s the best singer. There’s nobody close.

awesome adams is what i call him. i have all his albums apart from cuts like a knife and you want it you got it. i like his music becouse its cool it get’s you to jump up and down best of all its from his head not from someone else and he just performs it. your not an artist if your lyrics are by someone else and you ride on there efforts. but he dose spoil some of his songs by given them two different sounds you do get confused like for e.g.on a day like today i was love’en it until he came to ‘never let the sun go DOWN!!!!’ then he says the same line but dose not shout out DOWN on what is meant to be a soft song. he dose that on some stuff that can be awesome if he just kept the beat or the feel as the same. he dose the same for she’s only happy when she’s danceing.apart from that he’s the main man of rock his got a good sprit in him and his songs are never about anger or violence.
Bryan Adams is one of the best musicians I have ever seen. You suck, u know that? You all have no taste of music. If some one hates Bryan Adam’s music, I believe that’s person’s music taste is crap. Bryan Adams is just one of the greatest musicians ever…A person who lives only for music and who no one will ever be like. He’s one of a kind and has done so much for this freaking world starting from bringing his music everywhere he can.

I have seen kiss, the cult, def leppard , springsteen and bon jovi and adams rocks harder than all of them. Bon jovi has just as many ballads as adams does. So does def leppard for that matter. The radio stations just didn’t kill their ballad songs on the radio like they did adams stuff. Adams comes across as just a ballad guy cause the ballads he he writes actually become hits!!! The guy is unbelievable live. A guy that sells out wembley stadium has to be doing something right.

Why don’t you check out his website, http://www.bryanadams.com and browse the rest of his hit library, you’ll probably find another couple you thought “Bon Jovi” “Elton John” or “Price” sang. Seriously though? Bon Jovi? To a musical ear they sound nothing alike- and “hate” is a strong word, i’d give his music a serious listen and look before you write him off.
