WordPress Draft Notifier plugin
This plugin will send an email notification to the blog’s administrator when a draft is written or edited by a user that cannot publish posts (these users are called “Contributors“). You may find such notification useful since these posts must be subsequently approved (published) by a user who can publish other people’s posts.
NOTE: Notification is sent to the email address defined in the Administration Panels: Options->General / Email address. This is not, in general, the same address as that specified for the Admin user account.
Instructions:
- Download the plugin.
- Upload it to your
wp-content/plugins/directory (i.e.wp-content/plugins/draft-notifier.php). - Make sure the file has sufficient File Permissions to be read by your web server (you probably don’t have to worry about this step).
- Activate the plugin called “Draft Notifier” from your Administration Panel’s Plugin Manager.
That should be it. No configuration is necessary.
UPDATE: This plugin is now hosted on http://wp-plugins.org and is called “Draft Notifier“.

Hi there,
Very useful plugin but I get this error when I update anything in admin:
Warning: Cannot modify header information - headers already sent by (output started at /home/ublic_html/news/wp-content/plugins/postman.php:75) in /home/public_html/news/wp-admin/post.php on line 342
Any ideas?
Thanks
Karl
Make sure there’s no white space (blank lines, spaces, etc.) before the first
<?phpor after the last?>. See also this troubleshooting article on Codex.Worked flawlessly, perhaps add a link within the body of the email for admin to approve or goto the login page of the site.

This plugin has been updated to be compatible with WordPress version 2.0.x.
Cool idea.
Does this plugin work with 2.0?
Yes it should. If it does not, please let me know.
On a related note, I have updated the plugin (version 1.1) to be a bit more robust.
What I’d like to implement is a tool that will allow my moderating team to send email notifications to contibutor if the draft is approved or rejected.
If rejected, there should be a place where they can enter why it was rejected.
does this plugin work with 2.1.x ??

I love this plugin - except for one thing - it doesn’t notify me when somebody submits a post for review. Being a PHP idiot, can you tell me precisely how to do this?
Better yet - could you release an update?
Thanks!
Shawn

Nice Tool, but is it possibly that an email notification is send when submitting a post and not with each edit of them?
Vielen Dank für die interessanten Informationen.
