The Mexican imported, naturally flavored sodas called, 'Jaritos', are sold all over CA and at Every Mexican Tacqueria.

They are also flavored with real cane sugar, not corn syrup, and are the best tasting soda I ever had. I dont drink much sweet drinks, but I gave up on coke, pepsi, all that crap eons ago.

Adam, I too remember McDonalds Orange drink! I loved it, and my husband who is the same age can't remember it! It was the best orange drink. I think it was a syrup mixed with water.

I guess it's just a pity it was at McDonalds -- it's such a nuisance having to go to one place for a drink, and then somewhere else for some food.

I remember that McDonalds used to have an "orange drink" that I really liked. It was closer to Hi-C or Gatorade than an "orange soda", and it was sooo much better than Sunkist or any of the other "sodas".

Orange soda usually seems to be best when it's generic. The local Kwik-E-Mart carries one called Top Pop that is great. Orange Crush in the old fashioned glass bottles is probably my favorite, but a bit pricey.

I have had similar experiences with orange soda, to the point that it no longer even enters my mind that it would be a good thing to try again. The stuff is just vile. But perhaps one of the earlier posters is right, and there is some less-than-revolting brand out there.

OG, that could well be it. Sunkist has a really awful after taste. Though, to be fair, the during taste is pretty putrid too.

DrLP, I do recall Fanta being delicious.

Tracy, thanks for the tip!

I also LOVED orange soda... can't drink it at all anymore. Since I heard how much sugar we consume in a year.. I have tried to find great tasting products with anything but sugar. One orange soda that I can now tolerate is the Orange Grown Up Soda - not available in all areas so I order from www.1800gourmet.com. Pricey with shipping, but very refreshing and also makes a great cocktail with some vodka.
